After the Philadelphia 76ers fell 119-107 to the Toronto Raptors last night, it was obvious moves had to be made by GM Elton Brand. Even without JJ Redick, it was a rather disheartening performance by the Sixers. I knew Brand wasn’t going to sit on his hands. It was just a matter of when.

That “when”, came very early this morning.

Wow. That was my initial reaction and that’s still my reaction right now. Personally, I just thought the Sixers had their focus on expiring role players, which they do, but not a guy like Tobias Harris who is getting ready for a nice pay day this summer. The Sixers plugging Harris in at the power forward spot arguably gives them the best starting lineup in the Eastern Conference, in my opinion.

Tobias Harris has always been a very like-able player, even if he did hit a game-winner as a member of the Orlando Magic against the Sixers in November 2014. He’s enjoying a career year, averaging 20.7 points per game while shooting 49% from the field and 42% from three.

Lost in all of this is Mike Scott and Boban Marjanovic. Two guys who will very much help this inadequate Sixers bench unit. Marjanovic’s minutes were inconstant in Los Angeles, but Brett Brown really doesn’t have any other options behind Joel Embiid. Marjanovic has the greatest efficiency rating in NBA history. He averages 30 points per 100 possessions. Lol, I am not even joking. Sixers fans will love these guys.
