The 2019 Open Championship will be played in Northern Ireland at Royal Portrush and is the seasons last major championship under the new PGA Tour Schedule. Next to each selection I put their Draft Kings salary in parentheses followed by their odds to win the tournament. I emphasized strokes gained on approach, strokes gained around the greens, recent finishes, finishes in other 2019 major championships, and gut feelings into my selections.

John Rahm (10,600) (+1400)
John Rahm is my pick to win 2019 Open Championship. Rahm has finished in the top three in each of his last three events. This includes a victory at the beginning of July at the Irish open and a third-place finish at the 2019 US Open. I feel it’s time for the 8th ranked player in the world to get his first major victory.

Adam Scott (8,800) (+2200)
Adam Scott has had himself a monster season thus far accumulating six top ten finishes in twelve starts. This includes top ten’s at the US Open, Memorial, PGA Championship, and Players Championship. Scott also finished 18th at this years Masters. Scott also ranks 4th in strokes gained around the green and 9th in strokes gained on approach shots. Adam Scott is a great play this week.
Matt Kuchar (8,700) (+4000)
Matt Kuchar at 40:1 odds to win the Championship is just and incredible value. Kuchar is also one of my favorite Draft Kings plays as well. His salary rarely exceeds 10,000 and seems to always have himself in the mix to win each week. Kuchar is assured to play steady golf and make the cut. Kuchar also ranks 10th in strokes gained on approach shots this season on tour.
Webb Simpson (7,600) (+5000)
Like the above-mentioned Matt Kuchar, Simpson is a crazy value bet at 50:1 to win the Open Championship. Webb Simpson seems to have knack at performing well in high profile tournaments. He finished in the top 20 at The Masters, US Open, and Players Championship. Simpson also ranks in the top 20 on the PGA Tour in stroke gained on approach shots and strokes gained around the greens.
Patrick Reed (7,400) (+70000)
Even at 70:1 I won’t be betting on Reed to win The Open Championship, but his 7,400 Draft Kings salary is just to good a value to pass up. Reed is one of the most consistent players on tour racking up 18 made cuts and 2 top ten’s in 20 events in 2019. Reed also ranks 10th in strokes gained around the green.
Joaquin Niemann (6,900) (+150000)
At 150:1 Niemann is a total longshot to win the 2019 Open Championship. I do like him as my favorite Draft Kings play that costs under 7,000 in salary. Niemann shot a blistering 65 Sunday to grab a tie for tenth at the John Deere Classic. This makes three top ten finishes in his last four PGA Tour events. Niemann also ranks 27th in strokes gained on approach shots in 2019.
